Gila Milstein

Experienced, hardworking, caring. These are just a few of the ways Gila is described by the members of our team.

Gila Milstein grew up in Israel. A graduate of the Rothschild Hospital Nursing School as a certified RN, she specialized in psychiatric nursing at the Bar Ilan University. Gila then served as an officer in the Israeli Defense Force (IDF).

An active community leader and philanthropist, Gila sits on the Boards of several organizations, including the Israeli-American Education Foundation and StandWithUs. Gila is also the President of MERONA Campus Leadership Foundation, an organization that nurtures leadership amongst pro-Israel students on college campuses. Through the Adam and Gila Milstein Family Foundation, Gila supports a range of Pro-Israel organizations.

Gila joined Stand By Me in 2010 as President of the board. Having lost her mother to cancer, Gila saw the need for an organization like Stand By Me and was inspired by its mission and volunteer spirit. She, therefore, started devoting her time, energy, skills and network to the organization and has been instrumental in its development. Since then, the Stand By Me family grew in size and significantly expanded the services that it is able to provide. Through her daily involvement, Gila brings her caring attention to each and every Stand By Me patient.

Gila holds Stand By Me dear in her heart and is proud to have taken part in building a community that brings hope and healing to individuals who fight cancer and their families.
